Have there been any COCA meetings?
COCA held its kickoff meeting on June 19th in Oklahoma City at the Will Rogers Theatre. Over 200 attended, and were entertained by a great performance by the Cherokee National Youth Choir. Miss Indian Oklahoma assisted in the door prize drawings, and Tribal Councilors Jack Baker and Dr. Julia Coates assisted in emceeing the event. Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chad Smith gave the keynote address. Many information tables were on site, including the Cherokee Heritage Center, Cherokee Nation Enterprises (the gaming enterprise of the Cherokee Nation), representatives from Cherokee Nation Community Services and the Cherokee Nation Registration Department. It was a great event!
